THE SITE WORKS

VIEW
BOARDS AND CREATE PUBLIC MESSAGES |
|
1. Using
your mouse, select FORUMS from the navigation bar at the
top of the page.
2. From
the index of hobbies, select the Hobby Forum for your hobby
and click on the link.

The
Hobby Forum Page shows the titles of all subjects in your
Hobby Forum. All subjects are member- created. |
|
Individual
message boards are called BOARDS.
BOARDS have a gray background.
Every
subject has an introduction and a list of links
to the messages on that subject. Messages on each subject
are listed
in order from the top down, most recent message
on
top. Select any message link to view that message. |
|
All
public message pages have a tan background.
1.
You can reply to any message you are viewing by selecting "reply
to this message".
2. Just
below each message are links to any replies to that message.
Click on the link to see the reply.
|
|
When
you click on "reply to this message", you
will go to the page where you create your new public
message.
Under your text box, you can see the text of the message
you are replying to.
Using
the appropriate buttons, you can create bold text, italic
text, underlined text, or add a hyperlink to your message.
Using
the insert box under the text box, you can insert a picture
in your message.
After
entering the text of your message, you can publish your
message by selecting the PUBLISH button.
If you choose, you can preview and edit your message
before you publish it on the site. You will also
have
10 minutes to edit
your message after it has been published.

SEND
A PRIVATE NOTE TO ANOTHER MEMBER OF THE SITE |
|
|
All
members of the site have a nickname that they use on
the site. The
nickname is a link that will take you to that member's
Profile Page. On the Profile Page of the member you
want to send
a private note to, click on the link that says "send
a private note".

|
Private
Notes have a blue-green background.
Private
notes can only be viewed by you and the person you are
sending the note to.
You can preview and edit your private note before
you send it. To send the note, click on the SEND PRIVATE NOTE button. |

VIEW
YOUR MESSAGES |
|
1. Your
Message Center can be viewed by selecting the MESSAGE
CENTER button on the navigation bar. In your Message Center
you
will find links to public and private messages that
have been sent to you.
2. All
archived messages TO YOU and FROM YOU can be viewed by
selecting
the link from the drop-down menu. |

CREATE
A NEW BOARD |
|
1. Using
your mouse, select FORUMS from the
navigation bar at the top of the page.
2. From
the index of hobbies, click on the correct category for
your new subject. |

On
the Forum Page for your new subject, click on "start
a NEW BOARD". |
|
1. Create
the TITLE for your new subject. Include the words that
other members might search for when looking for your
new subject.
2. Enter
the text that describes your subject. This text will appear
when other members go to the Board Page for your new
subject. Use the PUBLISH button to publish your subject
on the site. If you choose, you can preview and edit your
subject text before you publish it. You will also have
15 minutes to edit your subject text after you publish
it on the site. |
To go back to the HOME page, click on the HOME
button below.
