HOBBY NOTES HELP

MESSAGES and BOARDS: For a detailed explanation of how messages and subjects are created, go to the link, How does the site work? at the bottom of this page.

NAVIGATION BAR: Along the top of this page, (and every page on the site) is a 'navigation bar', with buttons HOME, MESSAGE CENTER, MY FRIENDS, etc. The navigation bar is the best way to move around the site.

HOME: goes to the Member Home Page. You must be logged in to the site to see this page. News, new subjects, and popular subjects can be found on this page.

MESSAGE CENTER: is your message "inbox" shows links to public and private messages sent to you. If you have any messages, a small red flag appears on the navigation bar. On the upper right-hand side of the page is a scroll-down menu that will take you to your ARCHIVES pages where you can find old messages to and from you.

MY FRIENDS: is your "bookmark" page for other members of the site. To "bookmark" another member, find the member's nickname and click on it. You will be taken to that member's Profile Page. On the top left-hand side of the Profile Page, you'll see a link that says add to My Friends page. Once you have clicked on that link, the person is automatically added to your My Friends page. You can remove someone from your My Friends page by selecting remove from My Friends page. (Additional features of the Profile Page are described below.)

FAVORITE BOARDS: shows links to any subjects you have "bookmarked". Any subject on the site can be placed on your FAVORITE BOARDS page by going to any Board Page and selecting add to Favorite Boards.

HOT BOARDS: shows a list of most popular subjects today.

FORUMS: is the index for all general hobby categories. By selecting one of the categories, you will be taken a page that shows links to all the subjects in that category.

CLUBS/GROUPS: If you have a hobby club or group, this page gives information about starting your own Message Board on Hobby Notes.

HELP: is the page you are on right now!

PROFILE PAGE: Clicking on the member's nickname will take you to their Profile Page, which shows information about that member and links to public messages created by that member. You can send a private note to someone from their Profile Page. You can edit your own Profile Page by selecting Edit your Profile Page.

IGNORE ANOTHER MEMBER OF THE SITE: Should you wish to ignore messages from another member of Hobby Notes, go to their Profile Page and click on the scroll-down menu.
